Old Business                  
Bylaws Review
Copies of draft Bylaws were distributed; everyone is asked to bring them to the next meeting as the copies were expensive to print.
A vote was taken and all agreed that the Bylaws amendments will be voted on at the August 2017 meeting
 
New Business –
 
New Haven Farms: Jacqueline Maisonnette of New Haven Farms spoke about the 613 Ferry Street Farm where the public can buy fresh veggies grown there for a good price. 
 
Elmseed Foundation at Yale: No one from Elmseed was in attendance.  
 
Chatham Square Riverfest: Mary Ann Moran announced that the annual Riverfest with live music, dancing, food, beer tasting, canoe rides, kids’ activities, and a one mile road race will take place on Saturday, May 20 from 11:00-4:00 at the Quinnipiac Marina, 309 Front Street.   There is no admission and all are welcome.
 
Fair Haven Branch NHFPL: Kyle Litscher of the FH Branch spoke about free programs offered by the Library including the collaboration with Long Wharf Theater which allows Library patrons to borrow free passes to Long Wharf Theater productions.  The current play is sold out so request to borrow the passes as soon as possible for the next production.
 
Announcements: 
 
Recently sworn in Alder Kenneth Reveiz invited everyone to attend the budget hearing to be held at City Hall on Monday at 6:00 p.m.  He also mentioned the fast by the Yale graduate teachers.
 
Columbus Family Academy Principal Roy Araujo distributed information about the upcoming International Festival of Arts and Ideas Pop-Up Festival that will be held at the school on Saturday, June 3rd from 2:00-7:00.  The theme is “Diversity and Unity” and will include multi-cultural cuisine, music, dance and activities highlighting neighborhood and local talent.  It is free and a great event.
 
Peter Noble of Pequeñas Ligas Hispanas de New Haven and members of its volleyball introduced themselves and spoke about their excellent volleyball achievements at tournaments throughout New England.  They mentioned that they are seeking donations to help with travel expenses.  HE also mentioned the upcoming Night of Guitars and dinner fundraiser to be held on May 20th at 5:00 p.m. at Columbus Family Academy.  The fee for adults is $25.00 and there is no cost for children under 18.
 
David S. made a motion and all agreed to put Pequeñas Ligas on the list to be considered for some funding from the next $10,000 LCI grant.
 
Guillermo Serrano reminded everyone that the Fair Haven Block and Bike Party will be Saturday, May 27th from 2:00 p.m. at Criscuolo Park.  Many activities for kids, food, music, and fun for all.
